Attorney General's Asset Recovery Board Auctions Property from BLBI Bank Harapan Sentosa Convict
Jakarta — Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Asset Recovery Board (BPA) has successfully auctioned one asset in the corruption case related to Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) provided to Bank Harapan Sentosa (BHS), held in the names of convicts Eko Edi Putranto, Hendra Rahardja, and Sherny Kojongian.
Attorney General’s Chief of Legal Information Services (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna stated that the asset consists of a single plot of land and building covering 541 square metres. “In the name of Eko Edi Putranto located at 132 Jalan Jatinegara Barat, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, DKI Jakarta,” he said.
He noted that the auction reserve value for the asset was IDR 12,386,028,000 and experienced a bid increase of IDR 10,000,000. Accordingly, the asset sold for IDR 12,396,028,000.
The auction took place on Thursday, 26 February at the State Property and Auction Service Office (KPKNL) Jakarta IV without the physical presence of auction participants, through electronic auction (open bidding) accessible via the lelang.go.id domain.
Hendra Rahardja, Eko Edi Putranto, and Sherny Kojongian were directors of Bank Harapan Sentosa.
In the Bank Harapan Sentosa BLBI corruption case, Hendra Rahardja, former President Commissioner of Bank Harapan Sentosa, was sentenced to life imprisonment. The businessman fled to Australia and ultimately died on 26 January 2003.
Meanwhile, Eko Edi Putranto, former Commissioner of PT BHS, and Sherny Konjongian, former Credit Director of PT BHS, were each sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment.
