Asset Ranking of Five Major Banks in Indonesia: Which Leads?
JAKARTA — Five major Indonesian banks have released their financial performance results for the 2025 financial year. All five posted asset growth throughout the year.
Indonesia’s five largest banks, ranked by assets, remain PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk.
The continued trend of credit growth and increased third-party funds (DPK) during the year was one of the main drivers of asset growth for these major banks.
As at 31 December 2025, Bank Mandiri held consolidated total assets of Rp 2.829.94 trillion. This represented a 16.56 per cent increase from the previous year-end figure of Rp 2.427.22 trillion.
This growth was consistent with credit disbursement rising 13.92 per cent year-on-year to Rp 1.849.96 trillion. Bank Mandiri disbursed the largest volume of credit compared with the four other major banks.
Regarding DPK mobilisation, the bank with stock code BMRI recorded growth of 23.9 per cent year-on-year to Rp 2.106 trillion, aligned with its strategy of optimising funding and strengthening its customer base.
The fund composition was dominated by low-cost funds, specifically current account and saving account (CASA), which grew 12.6 per cent year-on-year to Rp 1.431 trillion. This supported cost efficiency in fund management while strengthening the company’s liquidity structure.
The assets of the bank, which focused on targeting UMKM (micro, small and medium enterprises) segments, were generated from credit disbursement that grew 12.3 per cent year-on-year to Rp 1.521 trillion with a focus on UMKM segment disbursement.
Regarding DPK mobilisation, the bank with code BBRI also recorded growth of 7.4 per cent year-on-year to Rp 1.467 trillion. CASA was the main driver of DPK growth, rising 12.7 per cent year-on-year.
Through the end of 2025, BCA’s credit disbursement rose 7.70 per cent year-on-year to Rp 992.90 trillion, compared with the previous year’s credit disbursement of Rp 921.87 trillion. BCA’s credit disbursement was distributed across various sectors, including manufacturing, trade, restaurants, hotels and households.
Regarding DPK mobilisation, BCA recorded growth of 10.2 per cent year-on-year to Rp 1.249 trillion with CASA growing 13.1 per cent year-on-year to Rp 1.045 trillion.
