ASPRINDO's Strategy to Strengthen Village Economies
Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian Indigenous Entrepreneurs Association (ASPRINDO) has taken another concrete step towards strengthening the national economy by signing a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Village-Owned Enterprises Association (PBI) and the Village Community Development Movement (Gerbang Massa).
ASPRINDO Chairman Jose Rizal stated that the partnership would deliver positive outcomes, as village business operators would have the opportunity to collaborate with ASPRINDO’s more experienced entrepreneurs, enabling them to jointly invigorate and strengthen rural economies.
“This is precisely what we wish to achieve through the Industrial Village programme. We want to drive economic growth from the bottom up — growth that has a direct impact on local communities and business operators,” Jose said in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
He declared that the collaboration between ASPRINDO and BUMDes would play a pivotal role as the driving force behind improved village economies.
“This is where the private sector and village entities collaborate to strengthen economic structures at the grassroots level,” he said.
Jose explained that several key points had been agreed upon in the partnership, including the realisation of knowledge transfer and technology sharing through managerial mentoring and the more professional, competitive, and well-governed management of BUMDes.
“We will focus on empowering MSMEs and absorbing superior village products into the industrial supply chains within ASPRINDO’s network, thereby delivering added economic value to rural communities,” he said.
Additionally, cooperation will extend to market access and digitalisation, enabling BUMDes services and marketing to reach national and global export markets through ASPRINDO’s entrepreneurial network, with offtakers serving as a bridge to modern markets and fostering competitive market conditions.
“We are also opening up inclusive investment — sustainable investment opportunities in villages oriented towards creating employment for local communities,” Jose said.
He expressed hope that the signing ceremony would not be an end in itself or merely a formality, but rather a starting point for tangible work in building the economy from the periphery, in line with ASPRINDO’s vision of achieving a prosperous Indonesia.
