ASEANAPOL meet here May 22 to 25

JAKARTA (JP): The police forces of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEANAPOL, will hold their 15th meeting in Jakarta from May 22 to 25.

Delegates of the ASEAN member countries, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, will participate in the meeting, while Vietnam will send delegates to act as observers, National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. I Ketut Ratta announced yesterday..

Ratta said police chiefs of the six nations had confirmed that they will head their delegates. They are Dato Paduka Sri Haji Abd Rahman of Brunei, Tan Sri Rahim Noor of Malaysia, Recaredo A. Sarmiento of the Philippines, Tee Tua Ba of Singapore, Pote Boonyachinda of Thailand, Lhe De Tiem of Vietnam, and Banurusman Astrosemito of Indonesia as the host.

The meeting will discuss international criminal activities, including drug trafficking and money laundering.(29)
