The Eid homecoming is more than just a journey home; it is a major pulse of national mobility that brings together millions of stories, hopes, and longings. This year, the surge in movement occurred again with even greater intensity, yet it was still managed optimally through system readiness and solid cross-sector collaboration.

In this context, ferry transport has served 5.52 million passengers, an increase of 15.32 percent compared to the previous year. In response to these challenges, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) ensured the readiness of transport services that are not only reliable but also adaptive and optimally managed, particularly on 15 monitored national routes.

Cumulatively from H-8 to H+8 at 06:00 WIB, the total passengers on the 15 monitored national routes reached 4,722,213 people, up 6.6% from 4,430,006 people last year. Meanwhile, the total vehicles recorded were 1,215,273 units, an increase of 8% from 1,125,178 units in the same period the previous year.

ASDP’s President Director, Heru Widodo, stated that amid this significant increase, ferry services continued to operate optimally. This is reflected in the smooth flow of services maintained and the increasingly even distribution of traffic across various routes, including during peak exodus and return periods.

“The achievement of smooth services and increasingly even traffic distribution, even at peak times, is the result of operational readiness designed comprehensively well before the Eid transport period began. Optimisation of the fleet supported by strengthening digitalisation of services is the main key in keeping ferry performance reliable,” said Heru, quoted from his statement on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.

The various routes are vital crossings with high mobility, including Merak–Bakauheni, Ciwandan–Wika Beton, Bojonegara–Muara Pilu, Ketapang–Gilimanuk, Padangbai–Lembar, Jangkar–Lembar, Kayangan–Pototano, Kariangau–Penajam, Bajoe–Kolaka, Hunimua–Waipirit, Bira–Pamatata, Bolok–Rote, Bitung–Ternate, Ajibata–Ambarita, Telaga Punggur–Tanjung Uban, Tanjung Api-Api–Tanjung Kalian, and Nias–Sibo.

In its implementation, the Java–Sumatra–Bali routes remain vital nodes of national movement. Various anticipatory measures were taken in a measured manner, starting from ship operation scheduling based on daily needs, implementation of the Arrive–Unload–Depart scheme during congestion, delaying system through buffer zone points, utilisation of Ferizy digitalisation, to stimulus policies in the form of fare discounts and single tariffs to encourage more even and inclusive travel distribution.
