ASDP Ensures Java-Bali Ferry Operations Align with Return Flow Scenario
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Ketapang Branch, Banyuwangi, East Java, has assured that ferry operations on the Ketapang (Banyuwangi)-Gilimanuk (Bali) route are running according to the controlled return flow scenario for Lebaran 2026. “Up to today (H+1 Lebaran), vehicle traffic is still within the service capacity limits, and the even arrival pattern has made the ship’s loading and unloading process quick and efficient without any obstacles,” said the General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Ketapang Branch, Banyuwangi, Arief Eko, in Banyuwangi, East Java, on Monday. According to him, the optimisation of the number of trips or ship sailings and the arrangement of ship docking patterns are key factors in maintaining smooth services amid the increase in volume. Arief noted that operations for crossings from Gilimanuk Port to Ketapang Port have seen a significant increase in traffic, but it remains under control. He stated that two-wheeled vehicles are the main contributors, with 3,995 units, followed by four-wheeled vehicles at 2,948 units, trucks at 298 units, and buses at 136 units. “The total vehicles crossing from Gilimanuk to Ketapang reached 7,377 units, or a 14.3 percent increase compared to the previous year, reflecting high mobility from Bali to Java that is still well accommodated by the service capacity,” said Arief. Meanwhile, from Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port on the Second Day of Lebaran, he said, there were 162 ship trips with a total of 26,424 passengers.
