ASDP collaborates with 14 SOEs to develop sustainable economy in Raja Ampat
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) is collaborating with 14 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in developing Raja Ampat Regency, encompassing environmental, social, educational, and community economic strengthening aspects for sustainability.
“The involvement of ASDP in this development programme is part of the company’s commitment to delivering broader benefits to society, particularly in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas,” said ASDP President Director Heru Widodo in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.
The development is carried out through the State-Owned Enterprises Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Collaboration Programme for Environmental Conservation and Community Empowerment Phase 2, to support sustainable development in 3T regions.
Heru stated that ASDP’s participation in the SOE TJSL programme in Raja Ampat embodies the company’s commitment not only to providing reliable transportation services but also to actively contributing to environmental preservation and improving community welfare.
The programme, scheduled for 22–24 April 2026, is focused on Kampung Mutus and Kampung Manyaifun in Raja Ampat Regency, with an integrated approach covering environmental, social, educational, and sustainable community economic strengthening aspects.
“Through this collaboration, we hope to create sustainable impacts and add value for the local community,” he said.
According to him, the beauty of Raja Ampat is not only a source of pride for Indonesia but also holds a great responsibility to be preserved together.
In Kampung Mutus, the programme focuses on ecosystem rehabilitation through planting 2,000 mangrove seedlings and 650 coral fragments, accompanied by environmental conservation education for the community.
The programme is also strengthened with diving training and certification for conservation groups, as well as assistance for Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) to enhance institutional capacity and community income.
Additionally, electricity access is now available to 119 households, reaching around 500 beneficiaries. In the education sector, the programme supports renovations of learning facilities and provision of educational resources at SD YPK Effata Mutus and SMPN 11 Raja Ampat.
Meanwhile, in Kampung Manyaifun, the programme is directed towards strengthening basic infrastructure and social services through electricity provision to 59 households, reaching 117 beneficiaries.
The activities also include renovations of public facilities, schools, and places of worship to support the overall quality of life of the community.
ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale added that the programme continues previous ASDP TJSL initiatives, such as planting 3,000 mangrove seedlings in Bitung, coral reef transplantation in Labuan Bajo, scholarships in Sumbawa, support for MSME development, and renovations of places of worship in various eastern Indonesian regions.
According to Windy, these various programmes also support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), from poverty alleviation, quality education, affordable and clean energy, to marine ecosystem protection.
“Through this collaborative programme, ASDP aims to ensure that its presence not only provides connectivity but also delivers real and sustainable benefits to society,” said Windy.
Meanwhile, BP SOE TJSL Director Edi Eko Cahyono explained that cross-SOE collaboration is a strategic step to deliver more integrated, measurable, and sustainable TJSL programmes through a multi-intervention approach.
