Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is targeting economic growth close to 6% in 2026 following the inauguration of Robert Leonard Marbun as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) on Friday (27/3/2026). Robert replaces Heru Pambudi.

“Our time with Mr Robert is limited; I have promised the people that this year’s economic growth will be close to 6%. If it’s not achieved by the end of the year, I will be criticised by the public,” said Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance office on Friday (27/3/2026), as reported by detikFinance.

Robert is known to be a former Special Staff for State Revenue Policy and a former Special Staff for Institutional Relations at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM.

“I, the Finance Minister, hereby officially appoint you to your new position within the Ministry of Finance. I trust that you will carry out your duties to the best of your ability,” stated Purbaya.

The inauguration continued with Robert taking the oath of office. Afterwards, Heru Pambudi handed over the position of Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance to Robert in the presence of Purbaya.

“I extend my deepest thanks to Mr Heru Pambudi; you have built a strong foundation that now serves as our baseline moving forward. To Mr Robert Leonard Marbun, the groundwork is already there, so it’s just a matter of execution and orchestration,” said Purbaya.

Purbaya stressed that the challenges facing the Ministry of Finance are quite heavy with limited time. He asked Robert to immediately strengthen internal coordination and inter-ministerial/institutional relations, including supervisory functions and institutional strengthening.

“Our challenges are heavy, our time is short; we must sort things out and further organise our structure so that its impact on the economy becomes even more significant,” Purbaya concluded.
