Apartment worker falls to his death

JAKARTA (JP): A worker died after falling from the sixth floor of a construction site in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, yesterday.

Jaenuri, aged 20, a construction worker on the Cempaka Mas Apartment project, fell from the elevator carrying him to the sixth floor at 6 a.m.

An eyewitness who is also employed on the project said that the victim was not wearing a safety belt.

However, the source refused to provide further information, even to police officers.

The victim, who hailed from Madiun, East Java, was taken to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital soon after he fell, but died four hours later.

The apartment building is being built by PT Jaya Konstruksi. (05)
