Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has requested logistics transport entrepreneurs to comply with the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) on operational restrictions to ensure the smooth and comfortable flow of return traffic for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

“The peak return traffic for Eid is predicted to occur in several waves, namely 24, 25, and 27 March 2026,” the Minister stated in his remarks on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.

He reminded logistics transport entrepreneurs to adhere to the SKB on Traffic and Crossing Arrangements during the 2026 Eid transport period, which was established by the Ministry of Transport, the Indonesian National Police, and the Ministry of Public Works.

Under the SKB, operations of goods transport vehicles with three axles or more are restricted from 13 to 29 March 2026 to maintain the smooth flow of the exodus traffic and the safety of road users.

Therefore, in facing the return Eid traffic predicted to occur in several waves, his side urged logistics transport entrepreneurs to continue complying with the vehicle operational restriction provisions.

“This step is important to maintain the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of all road users,” he said.

The Minister stated that compliance with regulations is part of a joint effort to ensure that public mobility during the return traffic period is safe, orderly, and smooth. In addition, coordination and discipline among all parties are expected to be maintained until the operational restriction period ends.

He also appreciated the logistics transport entrepreneurs who have complied with the goods transport vehicle operational restriction provisions and the Indonesian National Police apparatus who have escorted and supervised the implementation of the policy in the field.

“This good synergy is very important to maintain the smooth flow of traffic and public safety, so that mobility during the return traffic period can proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly,” the Minister said.

On the other hand, the Minister urged the public who will undertake return traffic journeys to plan their departure times well and avoid times predicted to be peak return traffic periods. With more dispersed travel arrangements, it is hoped that traffic density can be minimised and public journeys become more comfortable and safe.

The Minister also invited the public to maintain traffic discipline, comply with signs and directions from officers in the field, and prioritise safety during the return traffic journey. He emphasised that the government, together with stakeholders, continues to monitor and evaluate the dynamics of return traffic movements at various transport nodes.
