International Al-Quds Day 2026 became a platform for strong condemnation by civil society groups united in the National Anti-Zionist Alliance (ANAZ). In an action held on Friday, 13 March 2026, the coalition urged the international community to immediately halt ethnic cleansing and genocide continuing in the Gaza Strip.

ANAZ spokesperson Mukhlisin Turkan asserted that the crisis in Gaza has exceeded humanitarian limits, with a total blockade having become a weapon of war against Palestinian civilians.

“Al-Quds is not merely a regional issue, but a global moral compass. We demand an immediate halt to ethnic cleansing practices in Gaza and the lifting of the total blockade that is causing suffering to civilians,” Mukhlisin stated on Friday, 13 March 2026.

In its position statement, the alliance accused the United States of orchestrating military escalation in the Middle East. Washington was held fully responsible for every loss of blood occurring from Palestine to Lebanon to Yemen.

“Without massive military support and political protection from Washington, the occupying regime would be unable to continue these humanitarian crimes,” the statement continued.

This year’s commemoration was also marked by deep mourning following news of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei. The alliance described the incident as a result of US military aggression and characterised it as a declaration of war against Islam and liberation fighters worldwide.

Despite losing a central figure, the coalition stated it would remain steadfast in keeping the flame of Al-Quds struggle alight as a pillar of unity for the oppressed (Mustad’afin).

Beyond military escalation spreading to Lebanon and Yemen, the alliance called on Indonesian society to strengthen economic pressure through a boycott movement against products affiliated with the occupying entity. They also strongly condemned all attempts at normalisation through international forums, such as the Board of Peace, which they considered a betrayal of justice values.

The action concluded with a reaffirmation that defence of Palestinian sovereignty would continue to be voiced until the country achieves full independence, from the West Bank to Gaza. International Al-Quds Day itself is an annual commemoration held on the last Friday of Ramadan as an expression of global solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle.
