Anixter's Asian centers

SINGAPORE (Reuter): U.S. company Anixter International Inc said on Monday it is setting up centers in Southeast Asia to offer information technology (IT) training.

Daphne Tham, Anixer's director of education services for the Asia Pacific region, told Reuters the company hoped to set up five or six centers in about two years' time.

The first center was set up in Malaysia in March this year. Anixter signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday with the Singapore section the Institute if Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to endorse its courses.

The IEEE promotes standardization and consults the American National Standards Institute on matters related to electric and electronic development.
