PT Permodalan Nasional Madani or PNM is committed to supporting the empowerment of women through sustainable business financing and mentoring. Not only strengthening the economic aspect, PNM also helps underprivileged women, including those with disabilities, to become more confident, independent, and contribute to improving their family’s welfare.

“PNM believes that every struggle, no matter how small, has great significance,” said PNM’s Corporate Secretary, Dodot Patria Ary.

One of those who has benefited from PNM is Ani Juwariyah. A person with a disability and also a PNM Mekaar customer in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. Ani diligently develops her bread business from home.

The simple business she started has slowly grown into a source of income for her family, enabling greater economic independence and capability. Amid her activities, Ani also serves as Chair of PPDI (Indonesian Persons with Disabilities Association) in East Kalimantan, where she actively engages in efforts to strengthen fellow disabled individuals to build confidence, dare to try, and not give in to stigma through social and economic activities.

Stories like Ani’s, according to Dodot Patria Ary, serve as a reminder that empowerment is not just a programme, but about bringing hope and opening paths for those who wish to rise from various backgrounds. “PNM is committed to continuously providing access and mentoring so that every customer, including those with disabilities, can develop and become economically independent.”

PNM’s support does not focus solely on the financial aspect, but also on mental strengthening, skills, and social networks that encourage the sustainability of customers’ businesses through business capacity enhancement activities (PKU) in every weekly group meeting (PKM).

PNM hopes that through Ani’s story, it is known that limitations are not the end, but the beginning of strength to rise. Moving forward, PNM is optimistic about continuing to expand the reach of empowerment and creating more stories from Sabang to Merauke. With consistent small steps, PNM believes more empowered individuals will emerge who not only change their own lives but also impact their families, communities, and create a more inclusive Indonesia and a people’s economy.
