Angke Hulu Water Gate on Alert Level 2, All Other Water Gates Return to Normal

JAKARTA - Water levels at the Angke Hulu water gate were observed to be steadily decreasing on Tuesday morning (5/5/2026). According to data from the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD DKI Jakarta) at 10:20 WIB, the Angke Hulu position is now at a height of 269 cm with Alert Level 2 status. The water level monitoring showed a continuous decline from Alert Level 1 at 315 cm at 06:00 WIB this morning. Meanwhile, the Angke Hulu position will only enter Alert Level 3 category if the water level reaches 249 cm. “Currently, there is no Alert Level 1; Angke Hulu is now on Alert Level 2,” said the Commander of the Disaster Mitigation Agency Platoon for the West Jakarta Regional Office, Maulana Syahroni. If the weather remains clear and rain does not return, the Angke Hulu water gate is predicted to drop to Alert Level 3 and normal by this afternoon. This includes the weather in upstream areas such as Tangerang and Bogor. “Insha’Allah it will drop (to Alert Level 3), hopefully the weather in the Tangerang area is also good,” he said. Currently, Angke Hulu is the only water gate still on alert status. Meanwhile, all other water gates have returned to normal since 10:00 WIB, including the Karet and Sunter Hulu positions which were previously on Alert Level 3. However, based on data from the Jakarta Water Resources Agency, the Karet water gate area has been experiencing rain since 10:20 WIB.
