Anatomist is a dying profession

YOGYAKARTA: Anatomist is a dying profession attracting fewer and fewer people, the chairman of the Association of Indonesian Anatomists, I Nyoman Sana, said.

"We don't know what really causes this, but we find it difficult to find people to continue our profession," Sana told Antara Saturday.

He said there was a lack of public appreciation of the profession, which he said was important in detecting irregularities in the body's system.

This, he added, was also reflected in the small remuneration that people in the profession receive. (09)
