Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Saudi Arabian government has provided certainty regarding the continuation of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage amid the intensifying escalation of conflict between the United States and Iran. The Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdulah H. Amodi, emphasised that all aspects of the Hajj pilgrimage will proceed safely as planned.

Military tensions in the Gulf region had previously sparked global concerns about the safety of millions of pilgrims heading to the Holy Land. However, Riyadh has guaranteed that Hajj security authorities and organisers have made full anticipatory preparations to protect Allah’s guests.

“All Hajj pilgrimage processes will proceed as planned despite the tensions in the region. We are fully committed to maintaining stability for the pilgrims,” said Amodi in Jakarta on Thursday (26/3/2026).

Amodi also placed special emphasis on the current internal conditions within the Kingdom. He assured that all sovereign territories of Saudi Arabia remain in a conducive and controlled state.

“Saudi Arabia is safe, and everything will proceed as planned,” he stressed.

This assurance comes amid strong Saudi condemnations of Iran’s military actions, which are seen as destabilising the Middle East. Amodi revealed a surprising fact that the majority of Iranian missiles did not target their primary objectives in Israel.

“Out of all Iranian missiles, only 15% were directed at Israel. The remaining 85% were launched towards neighbouring Muslim countries in the region,” he disclosed on the same occasion.

Those attacks reportedly struck several vital facilities and civilian areas in the Gulf region. This has raised concerns about broader economic impacts, particularly regarding the stability of global energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite the tense geopolitical situation, Saudi diplomacy remains focused on ensuring the security of air and sea routes for Hajj logistics. The Saudi Arabian government believes that protecting holy sites remains the highest priority above the ongoing political conflicts.
