President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that Indonesia’s food and energy security is in a safe condition amid the panic of many countries due to global uncertainty. This is driven by abundant natural resources and the strengthening of the domestic sector that the government continues to carry out.

The statement was delivered by the Head of State when inaugurating the Ibu Marsinah Museum and the Transit House in Nglundo Village, Sukomoro District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java, Saturday (16/5). The President is optimistic that Indonesia will be able to withstand the escalation of world conflicts thanks to the principle of national unity and an independent and active foreign policy.

“Food is secure, energy is secure. Many countries are panicking, Indonesia is still okay. We have been given a lot by the Almighty,” said President Prabowo in his speech.

The President explained that Indonesia’s strength lies in the philosophy of diplomacy, “a thousand friends are too few, one enemy is too many.” By adhering to a good neighbor policy, Indonesia has succeeded in reducing the potential for conflict in strategic areas such as the Natuna Sea and resolving various border disputes that have been stalled for more than a decade.

On this occasion, Prabowo also invited all elements of the nation to emulate the thoughts of the founding fathers such as Bung Karno, Bung Hatta, and Sutan Syahrir. He emphasized that the intellectual heritage of these national figures belongs to all Indonesian people, not just one group.

“Actually, I learned a lot from Bung Karno’s teachings. So, Bung Karno does not belong to one party. Bung Karno belongs to the entire Indonesian nation. Bung Karno, Bung Hatta belong to everyone,” he said.

Furthermore, the President explained the success of defense diplomacy and bilateral relations with neighboring countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, China, and Malaysia. According to him, the improvement of international relations is an important foundation for economic stability and national security in the future.

“Agreements that have not been completed for more than a decade, we have completed them. With Vietnam, we have completed it. With China, we have improved it. Thank God, now there are not frequent conflicts in Natuna,” said the President. (Z-10)
