Amcol shares suspended
SINGAPORE (Reuter): Trading in the shares of property company
Amcol Holdings Ltd was suspended from 01;00 GMT today, a
Singapore stock exchange statement said yesterday.
The statement did not give a reason for the suspension but
Amcol announced earlier yesterday that Singaporean tycoon Sukamto
Sia had raised his stake in the company by buying one million
shares at S$3.83 each.
Sukamto, who is trying to wrest control of Amcol from
Indonesian businessman Henry Pribadi, bought the shares through
his holding company Beswil Investment Pte Ltd.
The purchase raised the number of shares owned by Sukamto to
42.19 million or around 13.9 percent of the company, the Amcol
statement said.
Amcol shares closed yesterday at S$3.86, up S$0.04 on a
turnover of 1.8 million shares.
