JAKARTA - The Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj), Mochammad Irfan Yusuf, also known as Gus Irfan, met with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Almudi.

In the meeting, Ambassador Faisal conveyed that Saudi Arabia is currently in a state of peace.

“Saudi Arabia is currently in a state of peace. We greatly value the interests of the Muslim ummah and continue to strive to maintain stability, including encouraging that tensions in the region do not persist,” said Ambassador Faisal in an official statement from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj), quoted on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

“This visit is a follow-up to our coordination to ensure that the Hajj pilgrims’ journey runs smoothly. The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Indonesia is committed to providing full support for the smooth implementation of the Hajj worship,” said Ambassador Faisal.

Meanwhile, Gus Irfan assured that the Hajj arrangements for this year have been thoroughly prepared by Kemenhaj.

“The Indonesian Government will continue to strengthen coordination with the Saudi Arabian Government and all stakeholders to ensure that the implementation of Hajj worship runs smoothly and provides comfort and blessings for all pilgrims,” said Gus Irfan.

He further stated that commitments and support continue to flow from the Saudi Arabian Government, particularly from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, and the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

“We convey our highest appreciation to the Saudi Arabian Government for their commitment and support in providing the best services for Hajj pilgrims, including Indonesian pilgrims,” he said.

“We hope that tensions can subside soon, so that the entire Hajj worship process from various countries can run smoothly and safely,” said Gus Irfan.
