Ambassador: China Could Serve as Guarantor for US-Iran Agreement
Tehran (ANTARA) - China could serve as a guarantor for any agreement related to Iran, including a deal between Tehran and Washington, Iran’s Ambassador to China, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, stated on Sunday (10/5). “Beijing can be a guarantor for any agreement related to Iran. Given China’s stance towards Iran and the Middle East, China can serve as a guarantor for any agreement. Tehran has repeatedly stated that any deal with the US must include guarantees that there will be no new military conflicts with Iran in the future,” he said, as quoted by Iran’s Fars news agency. On 28 February, the US and Israel began attacking several targets in Iran, including Tehran, resulting in casualties and infrastructure damage. Iran then carried out retaliatory actions, launching attacks on Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East region. On 7 April, Washington and Tehran announced a two-week ceasefire. Subsequent talks held in Islamabad, Pakistan, yielded no results. Without reports of hostilities resuming, the US blockaded Iranian ports.
