ALTO Data Records 30 Million Daily QRIS Transactions, Signalling Sustained Purchasing Power Among Indonesians
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Data from PT ALTO Network (ALTO Network) records up to 30 million Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) transactions processed daily, serving as a signal that Indonesian society’s purchasing power remains intact amid global economic pressures.
This trend is consistent, including during the Eid al-Fitr momentum in 2026, when transaction activity continued to rise, demonstrating undiminished domestic consumption.
ALTO Network’s Chief Executive Officer, Gretel Griselda, stated that the stability of these transactions reflects the resilience of public consumption power.
“In the current global economic conditions, which tend to have high volatility, we see that payment trends in Indonesia remain stable and even tend to strengthen. This is marked by the continued growth in transactions we process, both in terms of number and volume,” said Gretel in her statement, quoted on Saturday (11/4/2026).
“This can be an indication that Indonesian society still has good consumption power. Currently, ALTO Network processes up to 30 million transactions per day,” Gretel continued.
Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta previously stated that this increase is driven by the widening implementation of QRIS, including cross-border QRIS, which is now usable in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan.
“In the near future, hopefully before the first quarter, we can implement it with China and South Korea. And as known, we are conducting intensive discussions with India,” she said during a press conference on Wednesday (21/1/2026).
Additionally, the adoption of the QRIS Tap feature (Tap In-Tap Out) has accelerated transactions, particularly in the transportation sector. In the fourth quarter of 2025, QRIS Tap transactions reached more than 1.44 million with a value of Rp 28 billion, or quarterly growth of around 267 per cent.
“That significant increase is due to the QRIS Tap In-Tap Out feature,” said Filianingsih.
On the other hand, ALTO Network recorded QRIS transactions it processes grew 89.56 per cent in volume and 94.18 per cent in value annually, comparing March 2025 with March 2026.
This system strengthening directly impacts society. Transactions become smoother, disruptions can be detected faster, and the risk of payment failure is increasingly minimised.
ALTO Network’s Chief Business Officer, Rangga Wiseno, emphasised that future challenges are not only about transaction speed but also comprehensive system integration.
“Going forward, the biggest challenge is not just how to process transactions quickly, but how to ensure the entire backend process. From monitoring, coordination, to handling issues, it can run in an integrated and efficient manner,” said Rangga.
With this trend, QRIS not only facilitates transactions but also mirrors public economic activity. When transactions remain high, consumption is still moving and becomes an important pillar for domestic economic resilience.
