JAKARTA — The East Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) confirmed that flooding in East Jakarta had completely subsided by Monday (9 March 2026).

Previously, on Sunday (8 March 2026), 31 neighbourhood units in East Jakarta were inundated by flooding.

“Thank God it has receded, averaging around 3 pm yesterday on Sunday,” said Rangga Bima Setiawan, Head of the Disaster Management Task Force for East Jakarta, when contacted on Monday (9 March 2026).

Rangga explained that the flooding occurred due to moderate to heavy rainfall from Saturday (7 March 2026) through Sunday morning.

“On Saturday, there was a rise in water levels at the Katulampa and Depok water gates, which then increased further, accompanied by local rainfall,” Rangga stated.

Separately, Mohammad Yohan, Head of the Data and Information Centre of the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), reported that 16 neighbourhood units across Jakarta remained inundated by flooding on Monday morning.

“BPBD has recorded that there are currently 16 neighbourhood units and two road segments inundated based on information updates until 6 am Western Indonesian Time,” Yohan said in a written statement on Monday.

According to Yohan, all 16 neighbourhood units still affected by flooding are located in West Jakarta:

  1. Duri Kosambi Neighbourhood: 4 units

  2. Rawa Buaya Neighbourhood: 7 units

  3. Jelambar Neighbourhood: 1 unit

  4. South Kembangan Neighbourhood: 2 units

  5. North Kembangan Neighbourhood: 2 units

Yohan also disclosed that two road segments in West Jakarta remained inundated by flooding. These are located at Kapuk Muara Raya Road, Kapuk Muara Neighbourhood, and Red Light Outer Kembangan Raya Road, South Kembangan Neighbourhood.

“The water depth on the roads ranges from 15 to 70 centimetres,” Yohan said.
