All England 2026: Tiwi/Fadia advance to the second round after beating Taiwanese rivals
All England 2026 at Utilita Arena Birmingham saw Indonesian women’s doubles pair Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi advance to the second round after defeating Taiwan’s Hsu Ya Ching and Sung Yu-Hsuan in the first round, 21-16 and 22-20. They dominated early on but had to battle in the closing stages of the second game to secure a berth in the last 16. Fadia said: ‘In the first set we played very well; in the second we got carried away following the opponents’ pattern and made too many mistakes.’ She also noted the opponents’ height and anticipation at the net, which made some rallies tricky for them. Tiwi added that they had to adjust their strategy quickly after trailing in the second game. ‘When we were quite far behind in the second, we tried to shift the pattern a little and revert to the early style we used,’ she explained. Looking ahead, Tiwi emphasised that the goal is to perform at their best in every match, rather than be weighed down by expectations of the end result.
In other All England action, Indonesian men’s doubles Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Rahmat Hidayat also progressed to the second round after overcoming Taiwan’s Liu Kuang Heng and Yang Po Han. Separately, Tiwi/Fadia extended their form into the German Open, advancing to the semi-finals after defeating Hong Kong’s Lui Lok Lok and Tsang Hiu Yan, 21-15 and 21-14. Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti booked a place in the quarter-finals of the German Open 2026, while Apriyani Rahayu and Lanny Tria Mayasari reached the last-16 stage. In the German Open, Tiwi/Fadia defeated Denmark’s Kathrine Vang and Mette Werge 21-8 and 21-14.
