The Soekarno-Hatta Airport train that was struck by a truck on the Rawabuaya-Batuceper line has been evacuated, with KAI reporting that rail services have returned to normal.

“It has been evacuated. Both tracks are now back to normal,” said KAI Regional Operations 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo on Friday (20/2/2026).

He explained that the upstream track was cleared for use from 12:05 WIB, whilst the downstream track was reopened at 16:20 WIB.

“The Airport Train was evacuated to Kalideres Station,” he said.

The Airport Train was involved in a collision with a truck earlier in the morning on the Rawabuaya-Batuceper line. The incident report was received at 06:06 WIB. The first officers arrived at the scene at approximately 06:20 WIB to conduct an initial assessment of track and rolling stock conditions.

Subsequently, dozens of infrastructure emergency response personnel were deployed to secure the location, inspect the rails, sleepers, and the overhead electrical supply system (LAA) affected by the impact.

For the safety of personnel and the evacuation process, power to the affected track was temporarily shut off at approximately 07:25 WIB. A recovery crane arriving at 08:56 WIB, along with other heavy equipment, immediately began removing the truck body from the rail line.

Truck Dragged 100 Metres

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari explained that the accident occurred at approximately 06:05 WIB that morning. It began when a trailer truck was travelling from Cipondoh towards Daan Mogot.

“As the train was moving along the crossing, the vehicle entered the railway tracks. The truck cab had already cleared the rails, but the container body was still on the tracks,” Jauhari told reporters on Friday (20/2).

Jauhari said the incident resulted in the trailer truck being dragged several metres from its initial position at the level crossing.

“It was dragged approximately 100 metres from the railway crossing,” he added.
