Airlangga: Total Holiday Assistance for Ride-Hailing Drivers Reaches Rp220 Billion for 850,000 Partners in 2026
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the total Holiday Assistance (BHR) for ride-hailing drivers in 2026 has reached Rp220 billion. This amount represents a significant increase compared to the previous year.
Approximately 850,000 ride-hailing drivers and partners will be the beneficiaries of the 2026 holiday assistance.
According to Airlangga, the distribution plan for BHR was discussed through intensive communication with application providers. He noted that the strong commitment from ride-hailing platforms was reflected in the attendance of their representatives at the meeting.
“This is with a total value of Rp220 billion. And the figure has doubled compared to last year,” Airlangga said during a press conference regarding policies on holiday allowances (THR), holiday assistance (BHR), and the realisation of Ramadan stimulus 2026 at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta on Tuesday (3 March).
He explained that in the previous year, the total BHR was in the range of Rp105–110 billion.
Airlangga elaborated that from each application platform such as GoTo and Grab, last year each provided Rp50 billion, whilst this year it has increased to Rp100–110 billion, with approximately 400,000 driver partners per platform receiving the assistance.
Additionally, another application company, Maxim, will distribute BHR to 51,000 partners this year—a sharp increase compared to last year which was only around 1,000 partners. Meanwhile, inDrive will also provide BHR to approximately 500 partners.
Airlangga also encouraged the earlier distribution of holiday assistance. “We encourage distribution to be carried out earlier, 14 days or at the latest seven days before Eid al-Fitr,” he said.
Regarding social security protection for drivers, to date partners have participated in the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programmes through BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (the state workers’ social security agency).
Labour Minister Yassierli stressed that the distribution of holiday assistance for ride-hailing drivers must be completed no later than seven days before Eid al-Fitr 2026. Yassierli also affirmed that ride-hailing drivers will receive holiday assistance this year with higher values compared to previous years.
