Jakarta — Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that export policy for strategic natural resource commodities will be implemented gradually. The first phase involves a transition period from 1 June to 31 December 2026, with an evaluation in the three-month window of 1 June to 31 August 2026. During Phase One, SDA exports will be conducted through an export state-owned enterprise (BUMN ekspor). In this arrangement, export transactions are still carried out by the company with buyers, but export documentation will be prepared by the export BUMN, with periodical documentation maintained through 31 December. Phase II will see full implementation no later than 1 January 2027, with exports conducted by the export BUMN and the entire transaction chain—from contract, to shipment, to payment—fully handled by the export BUMN.

“This policy cannot run without cooperation from the business world, and the government will not limit the space of the business world. The government will regulate to ensure that the economic cake can be enjoyed sustainably,” Airlangga said. “Of course, entrepreneurs are also asked to manage the transition period and ensure that their contracts are adjusted accordingly.”

“Previously, the government issued a Government Regulation (PP) on the Governance of Exports of Natural Resource Commodities. Through the PP, export activities for natural-resource commodities—such as crude palm oil, coal, and iron alloys—are conducted by export BUMN, in this case Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia.”

“The aim is to strengthen control and supervision over exports and the foreign exchange earnings from these commodities, thereby building data validity and integration and reducing or eliminating trade misinvoicing,” Airlangga asserted. (H-3)

“IHSG fell to 6,248; Finance Minister Purbaya said markets were worried about export BUMN.”
