Airlangga announces Rp220 billion holiday bonus for 850,000 ride-hailing partners
Jakarta — Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that a holiday bonus (BHR) will be distributed to 850,000 ride-hailing partners with a total value of Rp220 billion.
The distribution of the holiday bonus to driver partners will commence 14 days before Idul Fitri and conclude no later than seven days before the festival.
“The government is encouraging the distribution of the holiday bonus to driver partners to be carried out earlier, starting from 14 days and at the latest seven days before Idul Fitri, so that it can help partners meet their needs and maintain purchasing power ahead of the holiday,” Airlangga stated during a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The breakdown by platform shows that GoTo and Grab are each allocating an aggregate fund of between Rp100 and Rp110 billion in 2026. This represents a twofold increase compared to 2025, which amounted to Rp50 billion.
Each platform will distribute the holiday bonus to approximately 400,000 partners, bringing the total number of recipients from both platforms to around 800,000 partners.
Meanwhile, Maxim has designated 51,000 productive partners as recipients of the 2026 holiday bonus, a significant increase compared to the previous year which numbered around 1,000 partners. Additionally, inDrive has also committed to distributing the holiday bonus to approximately 500 drivers.
“Maxim will also provide the holiday bonus to 51,000 partners as recipients, compared to 1,000 partners last year, so Maxim’s increase is also substantial at 51,000. Then inDrive is also providing to approximately 500 partners,” he added.
Furthermore, regarding social security protection, the application companies have thus far facilitated driver partners to participate in the Work Accident Guarantee (JKK) and Death Guarantee (JKm) programmes administered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as a measure to strengthen protection for informal sector workers.
In addition to the distribution of holiday bonuses, the government has previously prepared various stimulus measures ahead of the Idul Fitri celebration.
These stimulus measures include transport discounts with a budget allocation of Rp911.16 billion from the state budget and non-state budget sources, and the distribution of food assistance comprising 10 kilograms of rice and two litres of cooking oil to 35.04 million beneficiary households with a budget allocation of Rp14.09 trillion.
Additionally, the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy applies on 16, 17, 25, 26, and 27 March 2026 for civil servants and private sector workers to optimise mobility and consumption levels.
