Airlangga Adds Investment "Souvenirs", Total Korea-Japan Commitment Reaches Rp 574 T
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto has brought substantial investment commitments from his working visit to South Korea. In the Indonesia-Korea Partnership for Resilient Growth forum, 10 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed with a total value of US$10.2 billion, equivalent to approximately Rp 173 trillion. Airlangga stated that the cooperation spans various strategic sectors, from energy to technology. “In that meeting, 10 Memorandums of Understanding worth US$10.2 billion were signed, covering sectors such as energy, green transition, and manufacturing industry,” Airlangga said in his statement, as reported from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube on Friday (3/4/2026). Additionally, the cooperation targets industrial sectors such as steel, batteries, and clean energy-based transportation. Investments are also flowing into the digital sector and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as property and infrastructure development, including the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) area. Collaboration among business actors is further strengthened through partnerships between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). Airlangga added that the industrial cooperation also includes strengthening the battery supply chain and investments in advanced manufacturing technology, including continued investments from POSCO and explorations of investments from Lotte Group, which open opportunities for involvement from Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara.
