Airbus veers off taxiway at Subang
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): An airbus with 202 passengers and crew
veered off the main taxiway yesterday while approaching the
runway for take-off at Malaysia's main airport in Subang, on the
outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.
No one was hurt in the incident which occurred at 7:15 a.m.
(2315 GMT Thursday), Bernama news agency said.
The Malaysia Airlines Airbus 330 was bound for Singapore with
189 passengers and 13 crew when the incident occurred, an
official with the department of civil aviation said.
The aircraft partially blocked the taxiway as its rear landing
gear was stuck in soft ground, throwing other flights off
schedule. Airport workers took two-and-a-half hours to remove the
aircraft to a hangar for inspection.
