Aiman Witjaksono Provides Testimony to Metro Police in Jokowi's Diploma Case
Journalist Aiman Witjaksono did not attend the summons for examination as a witness in the case of allegations of a fake diploma belonging to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), on Thursday (2/4) today.
The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that Aiman only submitted written testimony represented by the iNews legal team in his capacity as editor-in-chief.
“Aiman provided a legal opinion regarding his position as Editor-in-Chief of iNews, which was given by the iNews legal team,” he told reporters.
Budi said that the written testimony has been received by investigators from the Subdirectorate of General Criminal Investigation, Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Metro Jaya Police.
Aiman had previously been scheduled for examination by Metro Jaya Police in the fake diploma allegation case. He was planned to be examined as a witness regarding the airing of the Rakyat Bersuara programme.
Budi mentioned that the examination of Aiman was initially scheduled for Monday (30/3). However, Aiman requested it be rescheduled to Thursday (2/4).
Previously, Metro Jaya Police determined eight suspects divided into two clusters related to the Jokowi fake diploma allegation case.
The first cluster consists of five suspects: Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.
The second cluster consists of three suspects: Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias dr Tifa.
Metro Jaya Police has halted the investigation against Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis in this case. The police have also issued a Letter of Order to Stop Investigation (SP3) against them.
The investigation against Eggi and Damai was halted after they filed for RJ. Most recently, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar also filed a request for RJ.
