AI deemed a necessity for organisations to remain competitive and resilient
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Country Leader of Alcatel-Lucent Indonesia, Novse Hardiman, said Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is no longer merely a vision for the future but a business necessity for organisations that want to remain competitive, agile, and resilient. ‘Organisations that will succeed in the future are those that can adopt AI that is beneficial in supporting business transformation and improving operational agility,’ Novse said in a statement received on Saturday. He made the comments at ALE AI Forum 2026: Enabling Indonesia’s Intelligent Digital Infrastructure, held in Jakarta recently. According to him, organisations need to build intelligent, secure, measurable, data-driven digital infrastructure to adopt AI strategically. He explained Alcatel-Lucent’s AI-enabled portfolio is designed to help organisations modernise infrastructure through intelligent network management, advanced analytics, automation, and secure communications. By simplifying infrastructure operations and increasing visibility across the digital environment, companies can optimise data centre performance, reduce operational complexity, strengthen digital resilience, and accelerate AI adoption initiatives. With the large volume of data to be managed by organisations and the increasing complexity of the digital environment, AI-ready infrastructure becomes a critical factor for maintaining operational reliability, cyber security, business continuity, and long-term sustainability. Organisations that can adopt beneficial AI will be better positioned to support business transformation and improve operational agility. According to Novse, collaboration between technology providers, business players, and the public sector is needed to accelerate Indonesia’s digital economy growth while helping organisations turn AI potential into measurable business outcomes. ‘We continue to work closely with customers and partners to deliver flexible and secure solutions to support organisations at every stage of their digital transformation journey,’ he said. Gartner data shows global spending on AI is projected to reach US$2.5 trillion in 2026 and rise to US$3.3 trillion in 2027. AI infrastructure is expected to be the largest investment component, followed by AI services and AI software. In Indonesia, AI investment is projected to contribute up to US$366 billion to the national gross domestic product by 2030, driven by manufacturing, e-commerce, and financial services. ALE AI Forum 2026 brought together ICT leaders, innovators, business decision-makers, and technology partners to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI), smart networks, and modern data centre technology are reshaping the future of company operations and Indonesia’s digital infrastructure. The forum featured presentations on the evolving AI landscape in Indonesia, industry sessions on real-world AI applications, and an exhibition highlighting integrated solutions from Alcatel-Lucent and its technology partners.
