Jakarta, VIVA – The advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and the acceleration of sustainable energy transition are seen as opening opportunities for new business models in Indonesia. Technology-based startups are now not only pursuing growth but are also expected to address the needs of energy efficiency, decarbonisation, and sustainable development targets.

Indonesia possesses significant demographic potential and a high level of digital adoption to drive innovation in these sectors. As attention to environmental and sustainability issues grows, business opportunities based on clean energy solutions and environmentally friendly technology are increasingly accessible.

The integration of AI into business processes is considered capable of helping startups process data, improve efficiency, and accelerate decision-making. In an effort to connect innovators with stakeholders, UD IMPACT held the ‘MAJU:ON Dialogue on Entrepreneurship, Powered by AI’ in Jakarta, through a strategic partnership with SK Innovation E&S.

The forum served as a space for dialogue between startups, industry players, investors, and policymakers to align the direction of innovation with national development needs. The initiative supports the development of startup-based technology in line with Indonesia’s priorities in energy and environmental sustainability, including contributions towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

UD IMPACT CEO Jeongheon Kim stated that Indonesia represents a strategic point in the company’s global journey. “Through this programme, we have witnessed first-hand the extraordinary potential and innovative spirit of Indonesia’s young generation,” said Jeongheon, as quoted from a press release on Monday, 16 February 2026.

“We are committed to intensively supporting entrepreneurs at every stage, so that they are not only ready to grow in the local market but are also capable of competing at the global level,” he added.

The programme, which has been running since last year, has involved more than 500 young participants and produced 137 innovative business ideas. Mentoring activities encompass idea strengthening, training, market validation, and opening access to networks and investment opportunities.

The dialogue also provided space for policymakers to convey their expectations and practical input to ensure that emerging innovations remain relevant to national energy and environmental policy directions.

Going forward, cross-sector collaboration between business players, industry partners, and other stakeholders is set to be further strengthened. This approach is expected to maintain alignment between private sector innovation and the development agenda, whilst simultaneously encouraging the emergence of startups that are not only adaptive to the market but also contribute to the energy transformation.
