Jakarta — Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development (Menko Infrawil) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has stated that the state of repair of national roads, particularly those outside toll expressways, has reached 93.5 per cent, ensuring the national road network is prepared for the public’s 2026 mudik mobility.

“Regarding non-toll national roads, there are 47,603 kilometres spanning Sumatra, Java through to Papua. There are several points that require repair. Conditions vary, but generally the state of repair of non-toll national roads has reached 93.5 per cent,” AHY said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

These road sections extend from Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi to Papua and serve as primary routes for logistics distribution and public travel during the mudik season.

According to AHY, the condition of national roads does indeed vary at several points, but generally the level of repair is already very good.

One primary focus is conducting road preservation or maintenance, including repairing damage and filling holes that pose potential hazards to road users.

To support this effort, the government has prepared a Disaster Relief Unit (DRU) team tasked with conducting rapid repairs in the field.

This team is positioned to respond to various road damages that emerge suddenly, particularly on routes travelled by mudik participants.
