REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG — The enthusiasm of the public in anticipating Persib Bandung’s potential victory has had a significant impact on Bandung’s tourism sector, particularly hotel occupancy. Ahead of the plan for a victory convoy, hotel occupancy in several areas has risen sharply.

Head of the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar), Adi Junjunan Mustafa, said the spike in hotel occupancy is inseparable from Persib’s large supporter base drawn from various areas in West Java.

‘From reports by colleagues, this shows that Persib is not only for Bandung City, but a West Java matter. We fellow supporters certainly hope for and pray that Persib can win tomorrow,’ he said at SLBN Cicendo, on Friday (22 May 2026).

He explained that the occupancy increase began to be felt particularly along the planned route of the victory convoy. Based on reports received by Disbudpar, hotel occupancy in the area has already been at a high level.

‘For hotels, we have received reports that around the route occupancy is already very high,’ he said.

Although he could not confirm whether all hotels have reached full occupancy, Adi acknowledged that the trend of room bookings continues to rise as the day of the convoy approaches.

‘If 100 percent I don’t know yet, because there has been no official news. But it is likely that many have started booking,’ he said.

Earlier, during the last long weekend, hotel occupancy in Bandung stood at around 75 to 90 percent. With the momentum of Persib’s convoy, the figure is expected to rise further.

‘Last time during the long weekend it was between 75 and 90 percent. Now perhaps it could be higher than that,’ said Adi.

Regarding hotel readiness to handle the surge in guests, Adi said there were no special directives issued by Disbudpar. However, he confirmed that hospitality industry players would provide the best possible service to tourists coming to Bandung.

‘There are no specific instructions from us. But they will certainly welcome guests as best as they can,’ he said.

He also hoped this momentum would not only be a celebration for the bobotoh, but also bring a positive impact to Bandung’s tourism sector and the city’s economy as a whole.
