The government is committed to ensuring every citizen receives equitable and inclusive healthcare services during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday periods.

To ensure essential public services remain available, operate optimally, and are easily accessible, Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini inspected healthcare service readiness ahead of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026 at Dharmais Cancer Hospital in Jakarta on Monday, 16 March 2026.

Rini noted that the Lebaran holiday period typically sees high population mobility, requiring various public service facilities, including healthcare services, to remain prepared.

“In response to the President’s directive, the government wishes to ensure service facilities, service systems, and the readiness of healthcare personnel and supporting staff are prepared to provide fast, responsive, and quality services,” she said in a press release received by Kompas.com on Monday, 16 March 2026.

As the national cancer centre, Dharmais Cancer Hospital serves patients from various regions across Indonesia. Many cancer patients undergo continuous therapy such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and routine check-ups that cannot be suspended even during national holidays.

Additionally, the hospital has been mandated by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia to oversee regional hospitals in cancer treatment.

“During the Lebaran holiday period, Dharmais Cancer Hospital is expected to continue guaranteeing equitable distribution of cancer treatment services, not only in the capital but also in the regions,” Rini said.

The inspection also focused on the readiness of crucial services including emergency departments, inpatient services, and cancer therapy services.

Rini also examined the readiness of healthcare personnel, service infrastructure and facilities, and the availability of information for the public, including service standards and complaint mechanisms.

Rini noted that the government recognises that healthcare needs do not observe set hours, including during extended holiday periods such as Eid al-Fitr.

Accordingly, all healthcare service providers are expected to ensure services remain available so that the public retains access to healthcare when needed.

She also emphasised the importance of inclusive and accessible healthcare services for vulnerable populations including the elderly, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and children.

On this occasion, Rini also expressed appreciation to healthcare personnel and public service officials in essential sectors who remain on duty during the Lebaran holiday period.
