BEKASI – Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto has called on the City Public Works and Water Resources Office (DBMSDA) to urgently accelerate road repairs that will be used by those returning home for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

Tri stated that several road repair works are currently ongoing, as the process of procuring materials is expected to be completed only in the early part of next week.

“We will ask them to optimise the work. The procurement of hotmix and materials is expected to be finished around Monday to Tuesday of next week,” Tri said to media representatives when met at Bekasi City Government Plaza on Thursday (12 March 2026).

To anticipate this, Tri noted that the government has prepared temporary solutions for road maintenance ahead of the mass exodus.

“The Public Works Office also still has cold asphalt reserves. So it is just temporary during the exodus period. This way, the condition of the roads will remain safe,” said Tri.

He added that delays in repairs at several locations have occurred due to time constraints resulting from the previous project tendering process.

However, Tri assured that the local government is taking anticipatory measures to ensure road conditions remain safe for exodus traffic.

He stressed that he has instructed his staff to immediately carry out compaction work on those road sections.

According to him, the government is targeting all major routes used by exodus traffic in Bekasi City to be ready for use by next week.

Meanwhile, Head of the City Public Works and Water Resources Office Idi Sutanto revealed that there are still several excavation projects and road works in Bekasi City that have not been fully completed.

“But importantly, we are tidying them up and they are not disrupting traffic flow,” said Idi.

To ensure no excavation projects or road works obstruct vehicle flow, his office has also coordinated with various parties in the local area and conducted rechecks at several locations.

“There may still be some things we need to tidy up, and the police chief has already given approval. The important thing is that they do not disrupt traffic,” said Idi.
