Ahead of Lebaran exodus 2026, West Java transportation agency installs 14,000 smart street lights
The Transportation Agency (Dishub) of West Java is ensuring safer and more comfortable conditions for the 2026 Lebaran exodus by completing the installation of 14,000 street lights (APJ) on provincial roads. Several street light locations are now equipped with Light Control Unit (LCU) technology, which enables intelligent light control and remote monitoring.
Head of West Java Dishub, Dhani Gumelar, explained that LCU allows lights to be turned on, off, or dimmed remotely, whilst also facilitating energy monitoring. Additionally, West Java Dishub has established four Rapid Response Unit (URC) teams to monitor the condition of street lights in the field.
“The URC teams are ready to respond to public complaints and ensure street lights function optimally,” said Dhani. Members of the public can report damage through the West Java Dishub hotline or official social media channels such as Instagram Dishub Jabar.
The installation of street lights and LCU technology is expected to increase safety and comfort for road users, particularly at night, during the Lebaran exodus and return journey. West Java Dishub has also emphasised the importance of collaboration with the public and relevant parties so that any damage can be addressed quickly.
“West Java Dishub remains committed to continuously improving the quality of road infrastructure and traffic safety in West Java,” said Dhani.
