Ahead of the Eid holiday break, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana inspected facilities and several crowded spots in the Blok M area of South Jakarta.

The visit was conducted to ensure the public could enjoy a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable holiday, both for local residents and tourists visiting Jakarta.

“If friends want to travel around Jakarta, particularly in the South Jakarta area, there are many interesting destinations and activities that can be done,” said Widiyanti.

The first location visited was Taman Bendera Pusaka (Heritage Flag Park), which was recently inaugurated by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo alongside Indonesia’s fifth president Megawati Soekarnoputri on Saturday, 14 March.

At the location, Widiyanti greeted several visitors who were enjoying the park’s facilities. She also interacted with the public on several occasions and distributed merchandise to children who were playing.

Additionally, she inspected tenant locations that would be opened to complement park facilities, including food stalls and public toilets.

Widiyanti’s visit continued to M Bloc Space. She also took the opportunity to visit the Connectoon Store to view collections from local intellectual property, including Si Juki comics and various merchandise available at the shop.

Widiyanti also hopes that the public, particularly in Jakarta, can enjoy the comfort of domestic tourism destinations during the Eid holiday period.

The government through the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia has also held coordination meetings with local governments and tourism destination operators to anticipate a surge in visitor arrivals during the extended holiday.

The Ministry of Tourism is also collaborating with police to address illegal levies at tourism destinations.
