PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) will halt road construction, repairs and maintenance work other than pothole handling from 11 March 2026. The move is intended to support the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr mudik. Ria Marlinda Paallo, Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, explained that the stoppage is due to the start of the mudik period. ‘We need to note that for road repairs outside potholes, maintenance, it will indeed be halted on 11 March, given that the mudik is approaching. So we are ensuring comfort for road users,’ she said at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, Cikampek, West Java, on Friday (6/3/2026). The maintenance teams operate during the night window, from 22:00 to 05:00. ‘And for the Cikampek corridor, we have prepared, for each maintenance window from 10 PM to 5 AM, about 10 teams. Each team can handle up to 10 locations. So there are more than 100 locations we need to anticipate. However, so far everything is normal; we can confirm that the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road segment has been under control regarding potholes,’ Paallo said. The response team is on standby to address pothole disturbances quickly. Officials carry out pothole closure or patching 24 hours a day. ‘And we continue to anticipate this by ensuring that all personnel who will be on duty 24 hours for patching potholes are prepared. In fact, if we mention the entire Trans-Java Toll Network managed directly or indirectly by JTT, we have prepared nearly 300 personnel up to Malang to ensure that patching or any pothole closure needs can be carried out around the clock,’ she said. The Indonesian Government Public Communications Office stated that the move is taken due to high vehicle mobility, especially on Java. The repairs are focused on ensuring road conditions can handle the surge in vehicles during the peak mudik period. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo said pothole handling is the top priority. The government targets completing the work before the peak of mudik.
