Jakarta - The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) announced that 97,122 teachers have passed teacher certification, representing the fourth cohort of the certification process that began in 2025.

“This is good news ahead of Eid, bringing particular joy to teachers and their families,” said Amien Suyitno, Director General of Islamic Education at Kemenag, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Suyitno stated that this figure brings the total number of certified Kemenag teachers to 304,661 across the first three cohorts in 2025.

M. Munir, the National Committee Chair of the Teacher Professional Education Programme (PPG) at Kemenag and Director of Islamic Religious Education, said teacher certification forms part of Kemenag’s efforts to ensure teachers possess standardised professional competencies and receive appropriate recognition for their dedication in advancing the nation’s intellectual development.

“With certified status, teachers are entitled to receive Professional Teaching Allowances (TPG) in accordance with regulations. This is expected to further motivate teachers to enhance the quality of learning and strengthen the role of teachers as a key pillar of developing Indonesia’s human resources,” said M. Munir.

According to Munir, this success reflects the hard work of various parties, ranging from technical units within Kemenag, universities offering teacher professional education programmes, to the teachers themselves who have diligently participated in all stages of the certification process with full dedication and responsibility.

“This announcement of successful certifications is expected to provide fresh momentum for teachers to continue enhancing their dedication, professionalism, and quality of educational services, whilst strengthening the government’s commitment to honouring teachers as guardians of the nation’s future,” said M. Munir.
