After Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq's Arrest, KPK Met with Wave of Support from Pekalongan Residents
Following the arrest of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has drawn a wave of praise from the local community. Fadia is now in custody on suspicions of a corruption case involving the procurement of outsourcing personnel.
‘Following KPK’s closed investigation of the arrest in Pekalongan, today we have received many messages of support from Pekalongan residents, even some people sent bouquets,’ said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, KPK, South Jakarta, quoted on Friday, 6 March 2026.
The Corruption Eradication Commission expressed deep appreciation for public support. KPK reaffirmed its commitment to thoroughly investigate this case to its roots, including prosecuting other parties if stronger additional evidence is found.
‘When we talk about eradicating corruption, this is a collective effort, and KPK is committed to continuing to collaborate with all elements of society,’ said Budi.
As of now, Fadia Arafiq is the only person named as a suspect. She is currently in detention for the first 20 days for investigative purposes.
Fadia is the beneficiary of PT RNB. In this case, Fadia is suspected of pressuring the head of the service to award PT RNB as the outsourcing service provider in Pekalongan Regency.
The instruction targets various agencies, from departmental levels to districts to regional hospitals. Ironically, PT RNB is still pushed to win the project even though a competitor company submitted a lower bid.
In this case, each village official was asked to submit an own estimated price (HPS) to PT RNB at the outset. Later, Fadia’s family company would adjust the bid value to the figures provided.
In this case, PT RNB had already secured projects in 17 regional devices, three RSUDs, and one district. In total, the company earned Rp46 billion from 2023 to 2026.
