Quality early education at Sekolah Tiara Bangsa
Early childhood education is a crucial factor in determining a

says Debbie Buckel, the head of the Early Childhood Center at
Sekolah Tiara Bangsa.
As an IB world school, Sekolah Tiara Bangsa implements a
Primary Years Program (PYP) in its kindergarten program. It not
only emphasizes the personal, social and emotional development of
children, but also those related to communication, language,
literacy, and mathematical development. Children are also offered
extra lessons in piano, ballet, Tae Kwondo and Mandarin.
Sekolah Tiara Bangsa also implements the PYP of the
International Baccalaureate Organization as the basis of its
Elementary School Program, and the Middle Years Program (MYP)
developed by IBO for its Middle School Program.
At the school's Early Childhood Center, education activities
are structured to ensure optimum development of children. As an
example, throughout the morning children take part in a variety
of indoor and outdoor activities, some led by children and
others led by teachers.
Children are taught by both class and specialist teachers, and
because of the excellent staff-student ratio each child receives
a high proportion of one-to-one teaching time. Staff are highly
experienced, dedicated professionals who are committed to early
years education and who realize the importance of language and
communication skills in these formative years.

that children receive specific language input from adults to
increase their understanding and fluency," says Mrs Buckel
All children are monitored and assessed on a regular basis to
ensure their progress in all areas, and parents receive regular
reports on their children's development.
