Cadre of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Ade Armando has resigned from PSI. Ade Armando stated that someone sent letters to the Deputy Chairman of PSI’s Central Executive Board, Ahmad Ali, saying that a certain individual would not support PSI if he was still there.

“Even Mr Ali could tell the story, there are people who sent letters to Mr Ali and said, this isn’t Mr Ali complaining, but we read the letters together which stated, ‘We can’t while Ade Armando is still there, we won’t support PSI’,” said Ade Armando at the PSI Central Executive Board office in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (5/5/2026).

According to him, this is the impact of the reporting of himself to the police by 40 Islamic mass organisations related to the alleged tampering case of Jusuf Kalla’s (JK) sermon. He said the PSI’s name was also attacked from that case.

“There are 40 Islamic organisations or figures under Mr Din Syamsuddin, if I’m not mistaken, they came to the police and reported me. Then there was one from Ambon, and another group of organisations. And on social media, the attacks are extraordinary. And even involving big names, famous people who got involved, even Mr Din Syamsuddin, in my opinion, is extraordinary, really high up. But the attacks aren’t just on me. For me, for the first time, the attacks were directed at PSI,” he said.

Ade suspects there are parties who deliberately want to finish him off and PSI. “I sense that there is indeed a deliberate effort en masse to finish me off and then finish off PSI,” he said.

Ade believes the parties who reported him to the police will not withdraw their report. He emphasised that he never sowed discord or provoked anyone to hate JK.

“I’m also sure the report against me won’t be withdrawn, it will continue. But I feel not guilty. I never sowed discord, provoked, incited anyone, even to hate JK, never,” he said.

For information, Ade Armando has resigned from PSI. Ade stated that his resignation was done for the common good.

“Through this press conference, I state that I resign from PSI. There is no conflict between me and PSI, but I resign, in my opinion, for the common good,” said Ade Armando at the PSI Central Executive Board office in Central Jakarta, Tuesday (5/5).
