Cadre of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Ade Armando has chosen to resign from his party amid a series of relentless attacks directed at him. He believes this step is necessary to prevent PSI from bearing the consequences of his statements.

“Through this press conference, I am announcing my resignation from PSI, yes. There is no conflict between me and PSI, but I am resigning, in my view, for the common good,” said Ade Armando at the PSI central executive board office in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (5/5/2026), quoted from detikNews.

Ade acknowledged that he has frequently been the target of criticism and attacks from various parties. This was triggered by the remarks, comments, and criticisms he has made.

“So far, I have too often been the target of attacks due to my statements, comments, and criticisms towards various parties,” he said.

He is concerned that the situation could impact PSI’s future. According to him, attacks originally aimed at him are now expanding to other cadres.

“The problem is, as I said earlier, those who must now take responsibility are not just me, because the attacks have been broadened, from attacks against me also against my friends, including, for example, Ms Grace,” he said.

Ade emphasised that his relationship with PSI remains good. Even the party leadership, led by Kaesang Pangarep, is said to still want to be with him.

“On the other hand, PSI’s leadership has always said that they are willing or they are always with me. But it’s not fair if the gentlemen and ladies in PSI also have to bear the consequences of what I say,” he added.
