Ad Hoc Judges' Salaries Increase, KPK Hopes for Corruption-Free Judiciary
The welfare enhancement must be paralleled with other efforts, such as systemic improvements and transparency in handling every case,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Wednesday (6/5/2026). The KPK hopes for comprehensive reforms within the judiciary. The salary increase is expected to be one way to minimise corruption practices in the judicial sphere. “However, we accompany it with efforts to improve the judicial system, with transparency and accountability in every judicial process,” he stated. The KPK views the role of judges as very important in the judiciary. The KPK has also conducted studies related to the judiciary, one of whose recommendations is indeed about improving welfare. “The KPK has also conducted studies within the framework of corruption prevention. We conducted capturing or photographing the business processes in this judiciary, what they are, where the vulnerabilities to corruption still exist,” he revealed. It is known that President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2026, which regulates allowances and facilities for ad hoc judges.
