Accompanying the National Police Chief in Launching the Free Eid Return Journey of Polri Presisi 2026, the Traffic Corps Chief Emphasises Safe and Joyful Travel
Jakarta, VIVA – The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, accompanied National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in launching the free Eid return journey of Polri Presisi 2026 at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
In his address, Kakorlantas stated that this moment of launching the free Eid return journey is not merely a ceremonial event, but a journey of longing to return to one’s hometown to meet family and relatives.
“Today is not just a ceremonial launch of the journey. Today is about hope—the hope of millions of Indonesians who want to go home, gather, and celebrate happiness with their families in their hometowns,” said Agus.
In line with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s slogan for the Eid return journey ‘Safe Return Journey, Happy Family’, his side guarantees the safety and smoothness of traffic during this year’s Eid return travel.
“Mr National Police Chief will be present in the field to ensure that all journeys, both outbound and return flows, proceed safely and without incident,” Agus revealed.
“We also report an update on harkamtibmas, which covers five clusters: toll roads, arterial roads, places of worship, port crossings, and tourist spots. Up to now, there are no notable incidents,” he added.
To the officers, Kakorlantas advised serving the return travellers humanely so that the public feels safe and secure during their journeys.
“To all officers in the field, I emphasise: our presence is not just to regulate, but to serve. Show empathy, provide sincere assistance, and be the representation of the state felt directly by the public,” he said.
Agus also urged return travellers to pay attention to their physical condition and vehicles, as well as follow the directions of the officers for smooth travel and to avoid disruptions or accidents.
“We urge drivers to be careful on the road, plan their journeys well, and utilise the traffic engineering policies from Polri to choose toll or arterial routes for travel safety,” he stated.
“We have also urged from the beginning regarding the importance of vehicle readiness and driver condition. Drivers are advised to rest every 3 hours and plan rest stops at available rest areas to maintain safety during the journey,” he concluded.
