Accompanied by PNM, Mrs Wulan Rises from Rock Bottom to Owning Her Own Home
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The story of Mrs Wulan from Denpasar, Bali, serves as a portrait of how determination can grow from the most difficult situations.
Once in a time when she had no job, struggled to pay for her children’s schooling, and did not yet own a home, Mrs Wulan chose not to surrender to her circumstances. From a simple venture selling lime leaves for cooking ingredients, she began her small steps to survive.
In that journey, she did not walk alone. The support from PNM Mekaar officers, familiarly known as the “white and blue sisters,” became an important part that strengthened her, while also introducing her to fellow mothers who mutually encouraged each other to keep striving.
For Mrs Wulan, the struggle was never just about herself. Behind every effort she undertook, there was hope that her children could have a better future and live more decently.
“I chose not to give up and to keep trying because I and our mothers work not just for myself, but for our children and families. Thank you to PNM for accompanying me through tough times,” said Mrs Wulan.
That simple sentence illustrates how a mother’s fighting spirit often stems from great love for her family, while also mirroring the spirit of many underprivileged women who continue to endure and grow.
Gradually, the business started by Mrs Wulan began to bring real changes. From the proceeds of selling lime leaves, she is now able to school both her children, build a house, and develop a side business in ironing services and on-call catering.
What Mrs Wulan has achieved shows that empowerment does not stop at access to capital, but also grows through guidance, closeness, and space for mothers to learn from each other. From the field, stories like this demonstrate that PNM’s presence is not merely about supporting ultra-micro businesses, but also about nurturing hope amid life.
PNM’s Corporate Secretary, Dodot Patria Ary, stated that Mrs Wulan’s story is proof that the resilience of Indonesian women has extraordinary power when accompanied sustainably.
According to him, PNM believes every mother has the potential to rise, develop, and become the main pillar for her family. Therefore, PNM continues to commit to providing empowerment so that customers can not only run businesses but also build better futures. For PNM, every small step taken by mothers in the field is part of the greater journey towards more empowered families and more prosperous lives.
