Accelerating Business Performance, Kadin Ready to Help Government Strengthen Export Governance to Boost the Economy
Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) is ready to collaborate with the government in implementing the governance of export of natural resources. This is to accelerate national economic growth that is stronger and more sustainable.
Kadin Indonesia’s Chairman Anindya Bakrie said his organisation understands the government’s drive to ensure Indonesia’s natural wealth provides maximum benefits for the people through the government regulation (PP) on Export Governance of Natural Resource Commodity (SDA). However, he added, the policy’s implementation is expected to be carried out through intensive dialogue with business players.
‘Kadin is ready to be the government’s partner in formulating the implementation of this policy so that its objectives are achieved, namely to increase state revenue, preserve foreign exchange, improve governance, while ensuring the business world can continue to move well,’ Anindya said in a Jakarta statement on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
The statement was delivered as a form of appreciation by Kadin for the President’s speech in the DPR RI Plenary Session coinciding with National Awakening Day at the DPR, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/5).
Kadin regards the President’s speech as giving clear directions for national economic development, fiscal strengthening, industrialisation, natural resource governance, and protection of the business sector.
‘Kadin welcomes President Prabowo Subianto’s speech. The President’s message is very clear: the state must be present, the economy must be on the side of the people, but the business world must also be given healthy space to grow, invest, and create jobs,’ he said.
He added that strengthening governance and eradicating practices that harm the business sector are foundational for national economic growth.
Kadin, he said, supports government steps to improve the investment climate and root out extortion and smuggling.
‘Kadin fully supports the President’s efforts to improve the investment climate, governance, and to eradicate corruption. The business sector needs clear, fair, and non-discriminatory rules. Extortion, bureaucratic red tape in licensing, smuggling, under-invoicing, and dishonest practices must be eradicated because they harm the state and law-abiding businesses,’ he stressed.
Kadin also views strengthening the industrial sector and downstreaming as strategic measures so Indonesia does not merely become a market for products from other countries.
