The Academic Capability Test (TKA) simulation has opened for primary school (SD) level. The simulation is a facility provided by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) for students to become acquainted with the form of questions, the working system, and the examination procedure before taking the actual test.

This simulation also enables students to be better prepared both technically and academically. The Ministry has provided a dedicated website for the TKA simulation. The Head of the Body for Curriculum Standards and Educational Assessment (BSKAP) of Kemendikdasmen, Toni Toharudin, stated that today marks the opening of access for the TKA simulation at primary school level.

“Yes, it’s open. You can access pusmendik.kemdikbud.go.id/tka/simulasi_tka,” he said when asked for confirmation on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Toni said that so far, preparations for the implementation of the TKA at primary and junior secondary school levels have encountered no obstacles. “We are continuing to coordinate with local governments,” Toni said. The TKA for junior secondary schools (SMP) will be held on 6-16 April 2026. For primary schools, the TKA will be conducted on 20-30 April 2026.

For students or parents who wish to access the simulation questions, they can directly access the website above. Then, select the level of education (SD or SMP). Next, select the type of compulsory subject. In the column at the bottom, select the subject—mathematics or Indonesian language. After everything is selected, click start simulation.

In the next display, simulation participants will be shown a login column using a username and password that are already filled in. Participants can directly click login. After that, participants will be taken to a data confirmation display. There is an automatically filled National Identity Card (NIK) code, participant’s name, gender, and exam subject.

Simulation participants need to fill in the participant’s name, date of birth, and the token code already shown in the top left corner. After filling these in, participants can directly click submit. After that, participants will be taken directly to the first question page.

The subjects examined in the TKA at both primary and junior secondary school levels are only Indonesian language and mathematics. On the TKA simulation website, students can study the question patterns in detail.

For example, in the sample TKA question for Indonesian language, students are asked to read a complete story in detail, approximately 5-6 paragraphs long. Then, students are asked to answer who the character in the story is and what the character does.

Additionally, students are also asked to interpret the meaning of figurative language or writing style contained in the story excerpt. Another example of a sample question from Indonesian language is where students are asked to choose a statement that is appropriate or inappropriate based on the story.

For mathematics, the questions that will be examined cover numbers (arithmetic operations), algebra (patterns), geometry and measurement (flat/three-dimensional shapes, time, weight), and data and probability.
