933 Pills Found, Police Claim Victim of Tabanan Accident Tested Negative for Drugs
The Tabanan Police Department confirmed that the victim of a single-vehicle accident on Jalan Yeh Gangga, Sudimara Village, Tabanan District, on 17 February 2026, did not test positive for drug use.
Although a package containing hundreds of pills was found scattered from the victim’s motorcycle at the scene, the examination results stated that the pills were not narcotics or psychotropics.
Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Tabanan Police Department, AKP I Ketut Ananta, stated on Wednesday (25/2/2026) that the seized package contained 933 pills with the logo ‘Y’.
According to the victim, they did not know for sure who the pills belonged to. However, the victim admitted to having consumed the pills to increase energy while working at a chicken processing facility.
“The victim explained that the pills belonged to a friend whose name they did not know and were placed on the motorcycle seat while they were both drinking arak in Gerokgak,” said Ketut Ananta.
All the pills were then secured by the police for examination at the Denpasar branch of the Forensic Laboratory. The examination results stated that the pills contained Trihexyphenidyl.
“However, this drug is classified as a controlled substance,” he said.
Trihexyphenidyl is not classified as a narcotic or psychotropic substance. Nevertheless, the victim’s urine test showed the presence of the substance.
Police suspect that the substance caused the victim to lose focus while driving, leading to the accident where they hit a Pertashop sign.
“Currently, the victim is in Jember, their hometown, and is undergoing treatment at a hospital,” he concluded.
